We teamed up with @thedadlab to run a competition to win a set of Translucent Polydron, and were absolutely delighted by the response.




It has become increasingly essential for young children to explore their external outdoor environment during the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Indeed, it is now a requirement for all children to have access to an outdoor play area or to take part in outdoor activities unless circumstances such as the weather prevent it.


The ATM Easter Conference offers a host of different activities and experiences, but at the heart of them all is the opportunity to become immersed in mathematical problems, thoughts and explorations. These often arise from sessions or discussions at the conference itself, but last year I arrived with a problem already buzzing through my mind.


We create all of our products following either teacher feedback or ideas generated by our new product development team. We test our products in schools with teachers and we also shoot pictures of our products in schools as they are being used.


I am inspired to share my thoughts, on one of the latest educational directions, that is becoming quite popular not only in UK schools but in many areas worldwide as well. I should say that my qualifications here are very limited. I am a keen observer, a parent and businessman, which all amounts to just your average layman. I don't have any science behind my views and the last thing I want to do is to offend any sensitivity any more suitably qualified person might possess, but for the record, here are my thoughts on STEM.


The Nurnberg toy fair has been going since 1949 and is the biggest toy fair in the world bar none. It is an absolute must for our business and it just seems to get busier every year. It is truly international and brings visitors from all over the world who convene on the town of Nurnberg at the end of January year after year and turn it into a genuine international toy town.
